A pallet is a platform on which you place goods for handling with a forklift or pallet jack. It helps with unit packaging, storage, stacking and transport. In Europe you recognise standardised pallets by the EUR or EPAL mark on the foot.

How to choose the right pallet
- Total weight on the pallet.
- Size of the packages and compatibility with the truck and shelves.
- Hygiene (food, pharma) or wet environment.
- Type of transport: domestic, EU, extra‑EU export (possibly ISPM 15).
- Budget and whether the pallet returns (exchange) or goes one way.
LDM calculator
Standard useful width of a semi‑trailer: 2.4 m. LDM = (length × width) / 2.4. Euro pallet 1.2 × 0.8 m ≈ 0.4 LDM.
Example: 12 euro pallets × 0.4 = 4.8 LDM. A 13.6 m truck usually takes 33 (sometimes 34) euro pallets.
Good practices
- Weight distributed evenly.
- Do not exceed the outline of the pallet.
- Stretch film or band for securing.
- Height accepted by the carrier.
- Label if it is not stacked.

Do I need an ISPM 15 pallet for export?
Usually yes when you go outside areas where untreated wood is restricted. Ask for the HT mark.

Around 1500 kg distributed working load. Confirm before heavy loading.
